It all started with a vintage motorcycle resurrection that satisfied a desire to unshackle from a desk and revisit the lost art of “hands-on design”. One passion project led to another and Campbell Coachworks was born.
Campbell Coachworks has evolved into a contract design studio & workshop uniquely committed to getting our hands dirty by turning conceptual ideas into physical reality. Founded in the carrozzeria tradition, where talent honed in top design studios around the globe is merged with gearhead ingenuity & mechanical skill. We have perfected a fine blend of inspired curiosity & tinkering driven by the desire to make the impossible, possible.
We opened our CoachworkShop in the artisan outpost of Borrego Springs, a remote Dark Sky Community deep in the heart of Southern California’s rugged Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Surrounded by pristine desert beauty, we’ve crafted our design oasis into an off-the-beaten-path-destination. A destination for discerning clients seeking an authentic experience as well as a basecamp to enjoy the solitude and endless natural landscapes.
Campbell Coachworks takes pride in handling a wide range of projects. Our vast automotive portfolio includes global OEM car manufacturers from the United States, Great Britain and Japan. Previous Coachworks consumer product clients have included kitchen appliances, motocross protective gear, alcohol packaging, clandestine gear for the US ARMY as well as a branding for an organic fruit company.
